As someone with brown hair that has a red undertone, getting a really good blonde without having to double process or do the whole foil highlights thing, this has given me the best blonde that I've had. I've used this brand and the Lamaur, but I think that Clairol cuts out more of the orange color in my hair, and the consistency seems to be a little thicker, but adjusting the amount of developer a bit could change that either way keeping in mind that you Need a certain amount of each for it to "cook" properly. In any case, depending on how long you leave it on your hair will determine the exact shade, between a yellow/golden blonde and more of a white blonde/platinum. I usually end up with more of a yellow blonde because it seems that no matter how much I plan, to give myself enough time, it just Never is, and I end up having to rush because it's Always on a day when I have a doctor appointment! Of course, as you color the growth each time your overlap will help to lighten the previously colored hair. And if you have someone helping you, you can add some streaks to the already colored hair, but that would most likely lighten pretty quickly, so you may want to do that about 15 minutes before washing... but you know your hair, so you can judge that yourself. As long as I pay attention to the hairline around my face and cover it all as well as use enough color, it gives great coverage.
